Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions Term 1

Noah still hadn't seen any sign of his parents, so thought that he had better carry on, perhaps his mother had dragged his dad off into one of the shops to get a new dress or robes. He was quite glad that it was his dad and not himself that had to suffer through that torture.

Happy that he had gotten through quite a bit on his list, he thought it was about time to go and do his own clothes shopping. He needed school robes and he was sure that they needed to be fitted. So he hoped that it was empty because he couldn't be bothered to wait around for some one else to get theirs done.

He held open the door for a family who were just leaving the shop and was glad that they had been the only ones there. As he stepped in through the entrance way he was immediately greeted by a cheerful woman, with pins stuck all over her robe and a tape measure hung over her neck.

"Good afternoon dear," she smiled a warm welcome, "New robes I take it?"

"Um yes please, Ma'am," he placed his bags on the floor as he was ushered onto a little podium. She took one glance at him and went to a rack of robes and pulled a set off.

"Now these are probably going to be a bit big, but you are a growing boy and I'm sure your mother will want them to last a while before she replaces them," she then began pinning the robes, making the hem at the bottom slightly shorter, and the length or the arms short enough so that his hands just about poked out the bottom. Noah was amused by the magical tape measure that seemed to snake around his body and had to hold in a chuckle when it tickled his neck.

"There we go, m'dear," she pulled the robes off his shoulders and cast her wand over them, "now that we have this template set of robes, what robes would you like?"

"Um well," he looked down at his list, "One set of black robes and two sets of Hogwarts Robes, please."

With that the woman hurried out the back of the shop and brought back the three sets of robes, folded up in a neat pile and placed them on the counter. "That'll be, 40 galleons please, dot."

Noah handed over the money and took the bag that the woman had just placed his robes in, thanking her he left the shop and headed for the Apothecary.

"Dépêchez-vous." she heard her mother say for the hundredth time that day, and Marie was getting sick of the language. It wasn't that she didn't like who she was, and where she came from, but she had never heard her parents speak so much French in one day.

Rolling her eyes, she felt herself be pulled into the robes shop, and her mother speak to the woman at the front.

"I would like one set of black robes and two sets of Hogwarts robes for my daughter please".

And when her mother held the bag in her hand, Marie was tugged out the store.

This time, Benjamin couldn't convince his mother to wait for him outside the door, she loved to buy clothes and even though he tried, she went in with him; the good part of it, is that they got a whole fitting room just for them, and they were treated as VIW, so while they fitted the robes, he got to drink some butterbeer, and eat lots of differents cannapés.

His robes, as usual were done in a few minutes, but he had to sit there and watch the witches measure and flick their wands for his mother robes, he entertained himself by throwing every flavored beans at the witches and looking to the other side innocently when they stared at him annoyed.

Finally, after several hours of plain tourture, his mother decided to stop and take everything, they didn't even had to go to the counter, everyone did that for her, so when they finally managed to go out of the store in his bag were 4 sets of gryffindor robes, 2 sets of gryffindor quidditch robes, and one balck dress robe.

Scorpius groaned internally as he entered the Robe Shop with his mother in front of him, this was his second stop in Diagon Alley and his mother insisted she go along with him. He knew there was no arguing with his mother, so he just resigned himself to his fate. He waited for the tape measure to measure him, though he already knew his height really. "One Set of Plain Black Robes and One House Robe please?" His mother asked, to which Scorpius rolled his eyes at. She still saw Scorpius as a baby really, and while at times he could use it to his advantage, there were other times, like today, when it became a slight pain really. Scorpius waited impatiently while the shop Clerk went to get them, he couldn't wait to be out of the Robe Shop. "Thank You!" He said politely as he made a beeline for a door after getting the robes, the quicker he left this shop the better really.

Pierre entered the shop, his mother in front of him as she made sure he didn't dawdle. The shopkeeper had him stand on a stool, and a tape measure flew around him, taking measurements. "What robes do you need, dearie?" she asked.

"Three sets of plain robes, and one House robe." His mother instructed.

Pierre wondered what House his cousin was in as they left, hoping he wouldn't be in the same one as her. He loved Terry, he really did, but she was a little overwhelming at times.

Rowan instructed Mason to wait outside by the door, telling him to watch over her cauldron full of school supplies. "I promise, this is the last stop before we can go buy a pet. Promise, all I need are robes now, which mum already ordered. So afterwards we can call for Nillie and she'll take my stuff back to the manor so we can head to the Magical Menagerie. Just stay here and wait for me. Don't wander off, either," she told her little brother who was still protesting about that animal she had promised him. Mason crossed his arms across his chest and he huffed, but he stood still. Rowan took this as a sign that he would stay where he was and she gave his black hair a ruffle, retreating into the shop before he could retaliate.

Rowan walked into the shop with a wide grin on her face from that little joke on her brother, but her grin turned to a scowl as a bubbly middle-aged woman approached her. "Hogwarts, deary? Well then, let's get you suited up for it," the lady said, coming 'round to the back of Rowan and trying to usher her forward to the back room where she would get measured up. "Hands off, lady. My mother already made an order," she said as she eyed the now retreated lady. The woman went over to the counter and opened a notebook with writing Rowan couldn't read upon approaching the front desk. "My mother ordered under a Mrs. Katherine Drake," she said with a grin.

Rowan could see the obvious surprise in the woman's expression. That's was the cool part about having such a well-known surname, even though Rowan rarely needed to show it off. Most of the time, she could deal with things herself, but this was not the case. The lady would have to get the order for her, so Rowan supposed it best to act appropriately with the family name involved. She often made her parents proud for honoring the family name.

"Ah, yes. Miss.. Drake.." the lady said, looking around the shop, just a tad frantically. She clapped her hands and suddenly a neatly wrapped package in tan paper with the 'Madame Malkins' logo on the front was zooming overhead to the lady's outstretched hands. She handed it over to Rowan with a smile. Rowan couldn't tell if it was forced or not. "Here we are, dear. Two Plain Black Robes and Two Hogwarts Uniforms all wrapped up and ready to go," she said in a sickly sweet voice. At least, to Rowan it was sickly..

"Yeah.. Thanks," Rowan said, giving the lady a suspicious look before leaving the shop with her head held high and her long auburn hair breezing behind her. When she opened the door and stepped out, her brother's voice immediately spoke up. "So, can we go now?!" he asked in a voice that anyone could tell was impatient and cranky. Rowan sighed, "Yeah, yeah, whatever," she said, the door closing behind her.

Ellen entered the little shop. Calum had gone to quality quidditch supplies to look at brooms he wanted for his birthday. The shop was quite when the young girl entered and the women was already smiling at her. “Hogwarts dear?” she asked her.
Ellen nodded and the women ushered her over to get measured. After ten minutes Ellen knew her size as she asked the women for “two sets of Hogwarts uniform, slytherin please” she handed over her money and thanked the shopkeeper before leaving.

Hester stepped inside the clothes shop. She gazed around. It was nothing like any clothes shop she had ever been in before. She walked past the rows of cloaks and robes confidently.


"Excuse me," she said to the shop assistant. "I'd like to buy two sets of Hogwarts uniform please."
"Which house?" asked the woman.
"Gryffindor," said Hester, smiling.

A tape measure leapt up out of no where, making Hester jump. It began measuring her without the woman even touching it. Hester looked at it in amazement. Magic was something that she wasn't sure she would ever truly understand. It was amazing that she even had a place in this wonderful world of things that moved all by themselves.

"Here you go," said the woman, handing her a set of robes. "Try them on for me, dear."

Hester pulled the robes on over her jeans and tshirt. The woman scurried around her, sticking a pin here and there.

"All done," she said after what felt like forever.
"Thank you," said Hester, handing over 30 galleons.

She left the shop, her new robes folded into a neat parcel.
