| The Apothecary was one of James' favourite stores. Even thought the smell was awful he could handle that because he really did find the entire store fascinating.
Looking around he noticed jars of things he wouldn't even dream of, submersed in liquids that looked equally as strange.
He walked up to the counter and placed his order with the shopkeeper.
"Could I please order a standard Cauldron and a Potion kit for First Year please."
He loved the look of the silver and gold cauldrons, but he would have to save all of he Galleons for something like that, and even then, his parents wouldn't let him buy something so superfluous. A Pewter one would do the job for now.
He handed the shopkeeper the 19 Galleons and walked out carrying his supplies under his arm.

| Fussing about in the Apothecary was ill-advised, mostly because it smelled simply atrocious. Alli's mother refused to even set foot in the place. Instead, she left Alli to go in and get her things on her own, promising to meet up with her in Madam Malkin's later. If there was one thing her mother loved, it was clothes.
She went straight up to the counter. "One standard cauldron and a first year potion kit, please," she told the worker before handing over the money, taking her things, and leaving. The smell was just too much to stand for long periods of time.

| Brianna stood outside the shop for what felt like hours, just looking in the grubby window. When she finally felt brave enough, she stepped inside, armed only with her money pouch and a strong will to get this over with.
The first thing that she noticed inside the shop was the smell, but that was soon followed by shelf after shelf of slimy ingredients in jars of all different shapes and sizes. She felt a tap on the shoulder and jumped. It turned out to be the shopkeeper wondering if she needed help.
"Um, yes. I need a standard cauldron and a first year potions kit."
She continued to look around at the strange things until the man returned with her things. She gave him the money and happily left the shop, glad to leave that awful smell behind.

| "I don't have time for this nonsense," Jude said to himself as he swung open the door of the Apothecary and walked in. Normally a house elf would have come to fetch his school supplies for him, but his mother was preparing for a huge party, meaning that all of the elves were working 24/7 to get ready for that.
He made his way to the man who worked there and said, "First Year potion kit and a standard cauldron."
He left 19 galleons on the counter and left with his things, wanting to get these horrible chores over with so that he could go do something less tedious.

| It certainly smelled odd in the Apothecary, that it did, but at least it didn't smell creepy like the wand place. She headed up to the shopkeeper, trying not to breathe too much. Just because the smell wasn't creepy didn't mean that it was good.
"Standard Cauldron please," she said, looking around. "And I'd also like the First Year Potion Kit."
She paid for her purchases and quickly left the store. |

| Makalya looked down at the list in her hands, and then down the busy streets of Diagon Alley. How was she ever going to find everything she needed on this list?
Looking at the sign on a store, she saw it read Apothecary. Makayla assumed that she could get her Potions supplies from there.
Smiling at the shop assistant, Makayla placed her order.
"Could I please purchase a standard Cauldron for students, and a First Year Potion Kit, please?"
Getting her supplies, Makayla left the store, happy that she could scratch the Potions supplies off her list.

| Essi followed her mother into the apothecary. The sounds and smells hit her like a heavy blanket, and she felt as if she was about to choke. "I don't want to do potions!" she whined, but her mother pushed her forward to the counter anyway. Potions was a compulsory subject at Hogwarts, no matter how much Essi hated it.
"Can I have a Standard Cauldron and a Year one potions kit please?" she asked, smiling politely. She handed over her money.
Then she left the shop in a hurry, anxious to get to the more interesting places like Flourish and Blots. |

| Astrid didn't like the idea of queuing, there was always an uneasy silence and silence that was awkward was one of Astrid's Banes Of Her Existances. Instead, she watched through the window to see what the other children were buying. Most of them were relatively young so would have to be down the school. Second or third years. Although one girl she'd bet her wand on was a first year- it was all in the face, Astrid had decided.
Once the last girl had been served- she thought it was the Essi girl from the Ice Cream parlour but in that case she wasn't sure: there were so many people and so many names in Diagon Alley that it was hard to remember who was what. Astrid made her way to the counter and asked for the pewter cauldron and the First Year Potion kit, as dictated by the silent customers from the other side of the glass earlier. |

| Adreis trailed behind her brotheras they entered the Apothecary. Dree crinkled her nose, it smelled terrible in the store. She looked around at the shelves, which were full of jars and bottles containing strange looking things.
The two soon reached the counter and Dree looked at her list "One Standard Cauldron and a First Year Potions Kit, please" Dree asked.
As soon as she got her things and the correct amount of money was on the counter, Dree took her brothers hand and left the store as quickly as she could.

| The apothecary had a lot of odd smells in it, and none of them pleased Isabel’s nose. She definitely wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. She glanced at her list, to remember what she needed here, and nodded to herself before stepping up to the counter.
“Hello,” she murmured, resting her hands on the counter. The shopkeeper turned away from the shelves behind the counter, which Isabel had to assume held potions ingredients that shouldn’t be left out for the general public.
“’Lo there. What can I do for you today?” the shopkeeper replied in a heavy Irish accent.
“I need a standard cauldron,” she informed, looking down at her school list. Yes, that was what it said. “What’s that?”
“One of these,” replied the shopkeeper, pulling a cauldron out from under the counter. “Size two, pewter, requirement for Hogwarts students. This what you’re looking for?”
“I suppose so,” Isabel replied, touching the cauldron slightly before looking back down at her list. “I also need a first year potions kit.”
The shopkeeper pulled out of these out from under the counter as well, and set it in the cauldron. “That all? The lot’ll be 19 galleons, little lass.”
Isabel nodded and pulled out her galleon pouch. “Yes sir. Thank you.”

| Anne's mother neglected to follow her into the apothecary, apparently the recollection of the smell was enough for her. When Anne entered, she noted it did smell quite horribe, and that with the exception of the shopkeeper she was the only one in the store.
The shopkeeper pulled out a standard cauldron, and a first year potions set before she said and word, and inclined his eyebrow in askance. She inclined her head slightly, walked up to the counter and handed him the 19 galleons, took her cauldron and kit then left the store immediately. |

| Fro walking into this store, Charlotte could tell she wouldn't like Potions. it seemed so dark and gross. "Last stop before we get out of here." Marrissa felt the need to add "Quick." Charlotte nodded, getting the same feeling. She walked up to the counter. "Can I have one standard cauldron and a first year potions kit?" she asked and then paid, leaving the store quickly. |

| Anthony walked into the Apothecary and looked around a bit at all the different assortments of Potions ingredients they had in stock. It truly was fascinating, albeit gross to see them all on proud display in the shop front and on shelves.
He looked at the cauldrons they had, and really liked the look of the platinum and gold cauldrons, but he would never be allowed to purchase something so gaudy.
Walking up to the counter, Anthony placed his order, "Could I please order a standard cauldron for students and a first year potions supplies kit?"
Taking his order, he left the shop after paying.

| Terry wrinkled her nose at the smell of the Apothecary. Despite living in Britain for almost five years now, she despised the smells that came with the foreign country. Her mother smiled down at her as she marched up to the counter, leaving Terry to watch. "One first years Potion's kit, and a standard cauldron. Now." she snapped. Clearly she didn't like the smell either. "Nineteen Galleons." the shopkeeper stuttered, scared by the tall blond woman. Terry thought that the air smelt fresher as they walked out with happiness. | |

| Leighton walked into Apothecary alone, because Alyxander was busy talking to some witch outside. When Leigh walked in, her nose was assaulted with the awful smell. Coming from a pureblood family, she wasn't used to something so disgusting. Yet, Leighton loved potions. Her mother was a potions fanatic and Leighton loved helping her mother collect the ingredients. Sometimes, her mother would even let her brew her own potions. Leigh walked along the shelves that held all of the ingredients. It was a little revolting seeing al of the more exotic ingredients on display. But, Leigh was fascinated by all of it. She ran her hand along the vials, feeling the cold glass against her finger tips. She glanced over at cauldrons and saw a bunch of different styles. Her eyes automatically were drawn to a nice silver one. Leighton didn't like the gold ones, but she wanted to flaunt her money. She walked over to the counter. "I would like that gold cauldron over there, the size two one. And then a year one potions kit." she demanded, her tone sounding bored even though she was excited about getting her own cauldron. Leighton pushed 39 galleons over the counter and smiled at the man. | |

| Seth had been looking forward to the apothcary. He enjoyed potions more than most other subjects, though the art was a little too hands-on to be his absolute favorite. Still, it was fun to look at potions theory and try creating new potions from the basic of the different ingredients, makiing them react with each other and predicting what would happen before it did. They wouldn't be allowed to do that for some time though, and Seth didn't feel particularly ready either. Though he'd studied theory a lot, he'd only been allowed to try the basic potions under the watch of his mother. The apothecary would have many more ingredients than their storing room, maybe even some rare ones. Seth couldn't buy them - it wasn't allowed, due to the volative nature of some of them - but he could look. And maybe owl order some later...
The inside of the shop was dingy and smelled really bad of the preservation-liqued used on the anatomic parts used. Seth ignored it.
Browsing the shop for a while, he noticed from his spot at one of the shelfs in the corner, the one with the different types of stones, a girl walking in. She had a confident swagger going for her, and was clearly intersted in the shop. Seth went longer into the shadows, avoiding her looking at him. She had to be a pureblood, it just shone out of her. Seth wasn't up for the 'my blood is purer than yours' conversation right now, so he chose to stay hidden and observe instead. He rolled his eyes when she chose the gold cauldron despite clearly liking the silver one best. Another first year then. A housemate if the attitude was something to go by.
As soon as she stepped away from the counter, he stepped forward, wanting to get it over with now that his browsing was already interrupted. Besides, he had many other purchases to make before he would be picked out be Pergy, his house elf. He couldn't spend all his time in here. "Two silver cauldrons, size 2 and size 6 please. And a starting kit for potions. Also, I'd like a stirring collection with both wood, metal and glas. Maybe crystal if you have that." The shopowner, a creepy sort of man, began to collect the things he'd ordered without a word. Seth wanted the stirring rods too, since many of the interesting ingredients reacted badly with something of the other, so you needed something to switch between.
Well, that settled that then. Next time he might buy his potions equipment in Knockturn instead, he refused to spend 47 galleons for the basics. |

| Lyss walked in, taking one smell and burying her nose in her shirt. She'd have to work quickly.
"A pewter cauldron and first year Potions kit." she asked quickly. Once she had recieved her items, Alyssa quickly left the shop. She would avoid this place. |

| Noah hadn't been to keen on taking potions, it always seemed that it would use a lot of brain power, and that was something Noah wasn't too sure he had. But his mum had insisted that he take it because she said it had been her favourite subject as school and so he decided that he could try it at least, and if worst came to the worst, he would just end up blowing something up.
He stepped into the shop and screwed up his nose, he was sure that there wasn't a potion in the word that smelled nice, or if there was this shop didn't ever make it. Whenever he had come shopping with his mum, this place always smelled as if something had died, or gone rotten. He would just have to get over it he guessed, or maybe would just become used to it.
"Excuse me," he addressed the shop keeper who was stacking a shelf behind the counter, he turned and gave the young boy a stern look, Noah had never really like the man but he was always polite, "Would I be able to get a Size 2 Pewter Cauldron and a Year One potion kit, please?"
The man scowled but quickly retrieved the items and running them through the magical till, "Nineteen galleons," Noah silently handed over the money, picked up the items and left the shop. Taking a deep breath of fresh air as soon as he left.

| Benjamin had been to this place before, and knew his way around, his mother insited on taking him on every shopping spree she had;But this time, it was his turn to purchase things. He was going to Hogwarts and there were a lot of things he needed.
With an exited smiled, he walked, almost run to the counter, looked over it to where the shopkeeper was standing and as politely as he could, he said "Good evening mister, may I please have a standard cauldron, and a first year potions supplies kit?".
He waited tapping his fingers impatiently on the counter, while the man got all his things, he had insisted on his mother staying outside, this was his opportunity to start doing things on his own.
Once he had everything he had requested, he payed and saying good bye, he left the shop, with a grin on his face, this was the first of many wonderful things to come, and he couldn't wait.

| Scorpius walked into the Apothecary confidently, his father had finally consented to allow him to do the majority of the shopping himself, and that was something he was definitely going to do. Therefore, first things first was to enter the Potions Shop as that was one subject he would be taking. "Hello." He said politely to the shop Clerk. "Can I please have a Standard Cauldron and a Potions Kit for a first year?" He asked, waiting to be given the mentioned supplies. |

| Of all the classes Rowan would have at Hogwarts, the one class she knew she would love the most was Potions. That was one of the reasons she was going to the Apothecary first. Rowan pushed open the door of the shop, and she and her brother were assaulted by the mixture of gross smells. Smells of bad eggs and rotten cabbages attacked their sense of smell, and Rowan coughed for a minute before regaining her composure and looking to her little brother to walk through the door. Mason didn't seem all that bothered by the smell. In fact, he looked excited to go into the shop. "Look!" he said, pointing at something in the shop Rowan couldn't see right away. Mason ran into the shop at full speed, his little face lighting up.
Rowan was surprised and did not immediately act, but she entered the shop mere seconds after Mason. The door closed behind her as she looked around for Mason, finding him staring up in awe at a bookcase full of multiple things. She walked over to him and past the counter with a scowl on her face. She grabbed her brother's ear from behind and tugged. "What was that for!?" he said, snapping out of his daze with a scowl of his own. Rowan knew he was used to her pinching him like brothers and sisters often did. Sometimes Mason would pull her hair in retaliation, but whenever their parents caught them in physical play, they'd get scolded for not acting proper, like a lady and a gentleman should.
"Why'd you run off, you doofus?" she growled at him, looking at him with expectant eyes as she waited an explanation. "Just look at this place! It's amazing! I just got excited, is all," he mumbled, looking down at the ground. For the first time, Rowan looked around her and was a little shocked. It was amazing, especially for such a potion enthusiast as herself. Her father had often let her brew small things back at home, proud of her potion brewing skills, so she already had some experience, but she'd never seen stuff like this. There were jars containing eyes and gelatinous goo that she couldn't even think to place a name to. There were barrels full of beetle eggs and there were cauldrons of every shape and size. Rowan released her brother and started walking around. "I guess it is pretty cool," she commented, gazing down the few large aisles in the shop.
Mason ran over to her and smiled. "Told you so, Rowan," he said, sticking out his tongue and going off to examine something. Rowan glared. "Well, don't get used to it. We have to buy my supplies, then leave. And don't touch ANYTHING," she commanded, watching her brother go down one of the aisles and start looking at things very closely. She gave him a warning look before going over to the counter. "I'd like a Standard Cauldron and a First Year's Potions Kit, please," she said a little impatiently, approaching the counter and drumming her fingers on the counter top. She examined a small glass jar of slimy looking plant weed things on the counter while the man got her things. "Thanks," she muttered, taking the stuff and handing over the money.
"Okay, let's go Mason," she said, much to the boy's disappointment. They left the shop with Rowan's cauldron and other possesions inside of it. "Let's go to the bookshop.." she said as they left, the door closing behind them. |
