Practice Makes Perfect Empty
PostSubject: Practice Makes Perfect   Practice Makes Perfect EmptyFri Feb 18, 2011 7:25 am

Landon was interested in learning Alohamora and previously asked Natalie to lock a door so he could go ahead and learn the spell. Considering they were at the same grade level, he knew it probably wouldn't be too hard. Actually, he didn't know, he hoped. Natalie could've been a better witch than he was wizard so Landon knew it might and probably would take him a few tries. Luckily, he had all the time in the world so it probably wouldn't be too stressful for him to learn the spell. Landon and Natalie had locked a broom closet door. It wouldn't disturb anyone around since no one usually hid inside the broom. Before, actually trying the spell out, Landon prepared himself. He took deep breaths and tried to get into the right state of mind to get the spell right. He knew it was going to take him a few tries but hoped it wouldn't take too many.

Once he was pretty sure he was ready to try out the spell for the first time, he held his wand toward the closet door and flicked his wand while saying the incantation. Softly he said, "Alohamora." Nothing happened. Landon grumbled feeling a little discouraged. Even though he knew the spell wasn't going to work the first time he had some hope. He sighed and shook his head. It probably wouldn't work the second time, maybe not even the third time but Landon was determined to get this done the right way. Sighing, he pointed his wand at the door again. This time trying to sound slightly more confident. He muttered the incantation again. "Alohamora." He heard a soft noise but the door was still locked. This was harder than he had originally imagined it being and he really didn't like that.

"I guess I can try again." He mumbled to himself. It wasn't fun to have to do something over and over again. Landon hoped he would be a natural at this whole spell learning thing but quickly discovered he really wasn't. This time, he relaxed and got into the state of mind. He really, really wanted to get it done this time. It would be really discouraging for Landon if he didn't. "Ok." He said to himself. Once more, Landon held his wand up and pointed to the door. Closing his eyes to concentrate better, Landon flicked his wand while saying the incantation. "Alohamora." This time, he heard the strange noise. He sighed and tried to open the door. To his surprise the door was unlocked. "Yes!" He exclaimed. It took a few tries but Landon finally got it.

This automatically allowed his bragging rights but that wouldn't be gentleman-like of him to brag so he decided to keep his newly acquired talent to himself until the time was right. Still grinning, Landon turned away from the door, and started to walk down the hallway with his wand in his hand. Where else could he try the spell? Oh, how excited he was to write to Lauren about his experiences at Hogwarts thus far. It was obvious she would be so proud of him.

You have done well, Landon. Wizard God approves this story and deems you worthy of spell-casting- thereby granting you use of the Alohamora spell. Congratulations.

This thread will be locked and 10 galleons will be added to your account for a job well done.

You may learn a new spell on the 25th of February.
