Pet: .Personal History.Matilda grew up in London. She lived with her mother and father until she was three. When she was three her parents divorced and her father gained custody of her, on the grounds that her mother was incapable of looking after her. Her father promptly got involved with a string of girlfriends, these lasting until she was seven. She was often left alone in the house and learned to fend for herself. She was never paricularly brave, though, and had terrible nightmares all through her childhood. When she was seven her father remarried, and Matilda gained a lovely step mother called Rosemary. Her life improved until her ninth birthday when her step mother was knocked down in a car accident. Her father recently remarried, and Matilda doesn't get along with her new step mother at all.
Matilda has no contact with her mother, but hopes that through the wizarding world she has just become a part of there will be a way to track her down.
Matilda's father's brother is Francis Alderman, and Matilda is Hester's cousin. She visits her cousin's family a lot to get away from her father.
Matilda has been in and out of care, but she somehow always ended up back with her father.
There was no magc in Matilda's family, until both her and her cousin recieved their letters, a year apart. They figure it must have skipped a few generations.
