Fiona arrived at the Leaky Cauldron pub by way of Floo, something she had never before done. She seemed to have gotten to the right place though, for there was a man standing on the other side of the fireplace room waiting for her, like the letter had said. He was a nice looking old man, and her mind registered he'd probably be a pushover. She often judged people on first impressions like this, so it was no surprise that she thought this. She began dusting off the dust and ashes from her clothes. She decided Floo was not a favorite transportation of hers. She coughed a bit before the man began to talk towards her.
"Miss Millington I presume?" asked the man, a smile on his pudgy, rosy-cheeked face. When Fiona nodded her head, he brought his hands together with a clap, beaming at her. "Well, I'm one of the innkeepers here at the Leaky Cauldron. The Headmaster of the school owled me about your staying here for the week, so we have your room all set up. Are those all your bags?" he asked, looking down at the two small bags she had brought. Fiona nodded, but she was not about to let him take them. "But, I can take them to my room. Thanks for the offer, though," she murmured, watching as the man nodded and turned. She made to follow him, taking the handle of her one wheeled bag and readjusting the shoulder strap of the other.
They walked down the halls and came to a very small room with a bed and a small dresser but not much else. "Sorry, it's not much, love," the man said, opening the door for her. "There's a spare key on the dresser for you to use. Curfew is eight o'clock and the bathroom's down the hall. If you need much else, don't hesitate to holler for meh," he said with a small chuckle as Fiona walked through the door and put her stuff down on the bed. She was finally away from home, and for an entire week, too! It was exciting and scary all at once. "Alright, thanks," she said, grabbing the spare key with a stoic expression. She waited to hear the door close before she finally let out a relieved breath, looking around the small, necessity only-based room. Sure, she'd have to work to pay off her visit here, but it was better than nothing, after all. She was magical! It was unbelievable, but relieving to her. Thoughts of her past could not have ruined this moment, but magical abilities would explain what had happened when she was a child...
She couldn't wait to get away from all of this and start her education as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She did need to get her supplies first though, so she stood back up, knowing it was no time to rest. Time to get going..
