A peaceful place Empty
PostSubject: A peaceful place   A peaceful place EmptySun Jan 16, 2011 1:01 pm

Emily had explored many places in the castle that day. She had been heading back to the gryffindor common room when she found a tower she hadn't noticed earlier. Beofre she could think her feet led her up what she was sure must be the clock tower.

Emily found that it was really heigh, she wasn't too found of heights but the view was amazing. Emily had a slight fear of heights but as long as the thing she was standing on was solid she wasn't that bothered. She looked down at the lake which sparkled in the sun, she decided she would go back there later. Afterall most of her day had been spent inside.

It was very quite in th tower and Emily wondered if anyone ever came up here. It was one of the few places that Emily had found completly empty. She hoped someone would come. She didn't like the silence but she couldn't leave now. She had just found an amazing place that was silent.

PostSubject: Re: A peaceful place   A peaceful place EmptyMon Jan 17, 2011 11:40 pm

Leighton loved Hogwarts. It was the most amazing and unique place she has ever been. She had now made her way up to the seventh floor when she noticed a clock tower and a girl standing there.
Leigh was hesitant to say anything, worried that this girl would be a Gryffindor. Leigh knew that most Slytherins and Gryffindors didn't get along. Leighton, personally, had nothing against any house. She was from America; she wasn't one to talk. Leighton only knew a little about house rivalries, but didn't believe in them. She hoped that this girl would be nice enough to be an anti-rivalry type of person like Leighton.
Still, Leighton felt worried. "Um, I'm sorry. I didn't know anyone was up here. I'll just go..." Leighton left this comment open, giving this girl the option to either tell her to leave or let Leigh stay and talk.

Emily jumped a little when she heard a voice behind her. She hadn't expected someone. She turned round to face them and was supprised to see a aslytherin. From the way the had spoke she had assumened it was a hufflepuff. She hoped the girl wouldn't mind that she a was a gryffindor afetr all they were meant to hate each other.

Emily had nothing against slytherin's, not until they did something horrible.

"no tit's fine stay if you want. I'm Emily" she said to her.

The other thing she would not do was tell her her last name. Not afetr Gwen told her what happened when a slytherin connected her to her parents.

Leighton found it odd that this girl, Emily, didn't want to tell her her last name. That made Leighton automatically get suspicious and curious. Leigh knew that curiosity was one of her downfalls, but she couldn't help it. Yet, as much as Leighton wanted to push the subject and figure out what Emily's last name was, she didn't. Leigh understood that some people were not so quick to trust others. Leigh's eyes suddenly looked down at the Gryffindor patch on he robes. Especially when those other people were 'Slimy Slytherins'.
Leigh smiled at the girl, who Leigh deemed to be very pretty. "I'm Leighton Vladimir. First year Slytherin as you can tell by my robes." Leighton stated while gesturing to her robes. "Nice to meet you Emily." Leighton replied as she walked to where Emily was standing and stood next to her. "I hope you don't mind associating with a Slytherin." Leighton teased, seeming confident on the outside but hopeful on the inside.

Emily grinned at the girl “It’s nice to meet you” she said to her. She noticed that the slytherin told her both her surname too. Emily was unsure if the girl was pushing for an answer or what. Emily wasn’t bothered though. If it had been the other way round she would have done the same. She was a curios Gryffindor, a very curious Gryffindor.

“I have nothing against anyone in slytherin, or anyone. Not until they prove I shouldn’t trust them. Besides you spoke to me when a lot of slytherin’s would have sneered at a Gryffindor or left” she said simply. She knew a lot of slytherins would have done just that, turned round and left. She hadn’t met any slytherin’s yet so she had nothing to compare the girl too. She assumened she must be nice enough. She introduced herself and offered to leave, Emily figured that until proven otherwise she should trust her.

She smiled at her “so how are you finding Hogwarts?” she asked her.

Leighton smiled at the question. "Its amazing. I've never even dreamed of a place so beautiful. I didn't even know Hogwarts existed until I got my letter. You see, I moved to the States when I was younger. I grew up in Manhattan, New York. I knew that i was a pureblood and that I was a wizard, but I never knew that Hogwarts existed. Maybe, that's why I'm so different from all of the other Slytherins. Yes, I can be cunning and manipulative and I do sometimes put myself above other people. I suppose that is what makes me a Slytherin. I would've been happy with any other house, well maybe besides Hufflepuff. Not that I have anything against the house, I just think it would be highly improbable that I would be there. I am honest and I stick to myself. Its just who I am. And I, like you, judge people by their content. Not by their blood status or what house their in." Leighton smirked slightly, while turning toward Emily.
Leigh made sure that she kept her eyes downcast. This girl, Emily, seemed like a pretty brave type of girl. Yet, most people were shock and if not a bit creeped out by her eyes.
Leighton eyes were an odd shade of green. Around the outside of her iris was dark grey that looked almost black and then it faded into a dark smoky green. Kids at her old school used to call them witch eyes. If only they knew.

She grinned, she noticed that Leighton kept her eyes down cast never quite meeting Emily’s. “what was it like over there?” she asked her. Sligthly curious as to why she didn’t go to a school in America. She knew there were plenty but she wasn’t going to ask her. “yeah I think Hogwarts is amazing too. I imagined it would be beautiful and amazing and everything. But just not quite like this” she grinned.
“well I haven’t met any other slytherin so I have nothing to compare you too. But you do seem very nice. Even if you are a slytherin” she said teasing her. She hoped that the girl would get that she was only joking and didn’t really mean anything by it. “yeah I wouldn’t have minded anywhere. I was almost put in slytherin my self.” She said to her. That was one of the reasons she decided the girl could be nice. She was happy to see that she had been right on her first impression of her. Even if sh had only know her for a short amount of time she seemed really nice.
“I think blood purity doesn’t matter and a house is just a reflection of your personality, who you are inside. “ she said nodding in agreement with what she said about the houses.

Leighton smiled at Emily. Emily was a lot like her; she ran through a lot of topics really fast. "America is amazing. It so different from England. Over in America, everyone is so blunt and honest; they have no manners whatsoever. I love it, because they are so crude. Its like you know if someone hates you or not." Leighton brushed off some dust that was on her robes.
Leigh was glad to hear that Emily was almost placed in Slytherin. "That's funny that you were almost in Slytherin. I was almost in Gryffindor, but apparently I was too much of a over-thinker and too cunning. Yet, I was brave and caring like Gryffindor. I guess that proves that it doesn't matter which house you're in; we all have the same traits, yet in different portions." Leigh responded.
"I never understood the blood purity thing either. I understand why people like showing their wealth and showing that they can afford to buy nice things. I was brought up that way and I do like showing my wealth. Not to say that I'm better, but to say that my dad and mother are brilliant people and are successful in what they do.
"But, that's so much more different from blood. My parents worked for all the money they have. You can't work for blood. You're born with it! I don't understand how someone can preach about how pure their blood is and say that they are better. Its the luck of the draw; not something you can control!" Leigh felt her voice raising a few notches toward the end.
Leighton looked over at Emily with a smirk. "Sorry," Leigh said not really sorry, "I guess I get carried away. I'm quite passionate about this topic."
"So, who are you on the inside?" Leigh wanted to know who Emily really was. If Emily told Leighton who she was, Leigh would tell Emily who Leighton Vladimir really was.

Emily nodded a little about what Leighton said about America. She hadn't know where the curiosity had come from, it was something she never wondered about. America, what was it like? why did her parents move there? It wasn't like she wanted to be there she was happy in England with her aunt.
"now that is a question? Who is Emily Sparrow, well lovegood. Long story" she grinned adding the last part. It was something she didn't really want to discuss right now. "well it depends what you mean by that. I'm curious and i don't hold back on it. I guess that's where my courage and daring comes from." She never worried about asing anything. Neer even thought about that until her words were out of her mouth.
"I guess I'm just me. Like i said it depends what you want to know?" she said waiting for the girl to answer.

Leigh knitted her eyebrows together in a thoughtful sort of way. What did she want to know about Emily. Leighton wasn't used to being stumped like this before. Usually people were so intimidated by her that they just began telling her their whole life story within a few minutes together. Plus the fact that Emily gave a tiny bit of information, but the acted like she didn't want to talk about it. It wasn't that Leigh was mad at Emily for not telling her. No, far from it. She understood exactly why you wouldn't want to tell someone everything. Well, Leigh understood why she didn't want to. Yet, she didn't know Emily's reasonings. Leigh liked Emily because Emily was going to be a challenge. Maybe even a good friend too.
"Well, I mean, I guess we can start with our childhoods maybe. I know that we are still children, but we can talk about our past." Leighton hoped she didn't bring up a sore topic. That was one thing about having to break the ice. You didn't know what topics were touchy and which weren't Leighton was never a good conversationalist.
"I can tell you about mine first. If you don't feel comfortable." Leigh added, cringing while she did it. Leighton was never one to open up to be. Ever. She never had to. Leighton let the people open up to her. Yet, Leigh felt the need to. She knew that Emily would probably never open up to her unless Leigh gave something in return. A trade in other words. Information for information.

Emily smiled a little at Leigh she seemend really nice and she didnt mind sharing it with her.
"it's fine i'll go first" she said. " Well firstly my actual name is Emily Jane Lovegood. I grew up in the south of England i don't have any siblings, it was fun though. My parents had a lot of friends so their was always people coming and going. There was a boy about my own age and a younger girl who were always at ours. So it was fun and great" she said.
"my parents have certain views on purebloods that i disliked. My father was a slytherin and he and my mother tried to drum into my head that purebloods were ebtter than everyone else. Though as you've already seen i think the complete oppoiste." she smiled a tiny bit. When I was ten they decided they wanted to move to America, it was already clear that i wasn't the perfect pureblood child they had hoped so they sent me to live with my aunt" she counniued.
"she's nice, i spent the year with her before hogwarts changed my name to my mothers madien name, So noe i'm Emily Sparrow. I haven't spoken to either of my parents since they left." she said. SHe didn't ask if leigh what hers was like she knew if the girl wanted she would tell her and if she didnt emily was okay with that.
