Post Shopping Bliss

Gwen frowned at the face the girl was making. She knew people would have a problem with who she was. Well, she loved her parents and was going to stand to them
"Do you have a problem with me? Cause if you do I´d rather you tell me flat out." She told the brunette coldly her blue eyes flashing. If the girl had seen only half of the things Gwen had paid witness to she would be more careful before jumping to conclusions.

"Yes," Alli said simply to the girl who seemed to be trying her hardest to look intimidating. "You should learn to mind your manners. I don't care if your parents do run the school or whatever they do, they should teach you not to interrupt when two people are having a conversation."

As easily as she had turned on her sharp tone of voice, she turned it off and looked at the blonde girl. "See you at school Makayla. I hope we get to talk some more some time, without being interrupted by busy-bodies, " she smiled sincerely at her; she would take the probable future Hufflepuff who knew nothing over the probably future... who cares, so long as she's not a Slytherin?... any day. She turned on her heel and left the parlor, taking all of her things with her.

Makayla sat as quietly as she could. She didn't know how Gwen and Alli got on each other nerves, but she hoped she wasn't the cause.

She blinked when Alli spoke, and watched as she turned and left. Makayla was lost for words.

"Wow," she said to the still present Gwen. "She's pretty intense, isn't she?" Makayla was grateful that Alli shared her knowledge about the magical world with her, but she was sad for Gwen, who Alli didn't seem to like very much.

"Are you okay, Gwen?" Makayla asked the girl.

Gwen rolled her eyes at the brunette but frowned.
"Thanks Makayla I´m fine. Maybe I should have mentioned that I´m adopted. That´s why i had a problem with my name, I´m still getting used to it. I´m not ashamed of my new parents so I see no reason to hide from their name. It´s just a job anyway. I should have known some people would get the wrong idea, she´s just the first. Too bad...liking quidditch is normally such a good sign..." She sighed. She hadn´t meant to be rude she had just been looking for friends since she didn´t have many and she could have just told her to leave instead of making her think she didn`t mind.
"Are you okay?" she asked hoping she hadn´t lost two potential friends instead of one.

Makayla was glad that Gwen didn't seem too upset by Allison's words. If the wannabe Slytherin had said those things to her, Makayla knew that she would be in tears by now. Gwen was obviously made of stronger stuff than Makayla was.

"I'm glad that you're okay, Gwen." Makayla said to the small girl. "I'm sure Alli's not that bad when you get to know her. I don't know. Perhaps she just needs some softening up."

Makayla suddenly realised that she was supposed to meet her Muggle parents at the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron.

"I'll see you around at Hogwarts, Gwen! Chin up!" Makayla smiled at the shop assistant and walked out of the Ice-cream Parlour.
