Dead Wood: Classification XXX

Ariana watched as the students filed into the courtyard and glanced towards the Forbidden Forest. The lesson that was to come was both a little dangerous and interesting. She only hoped that the students thought the latter rather then the first, and hoped that this lesson would go as planned.

Hester arrived at the Care of Magical Creatures Courtyard a little early, but at least she wasn't late.

She glanced towards the Forbidden Forest and remembered with a smile the last time she had been in there. It had been well worth getting caught.

She looked around but only her and the teacher were there. She wondered what they would be doing.

Gwen arrived smiling at Hes, remembering last nights jump.
GoodLordInABiscuit...that had been so cool.
"Hello Professor, Hi Hes." she smiled standing next to them and looking around for the others.

It was a rather nice day out, perhaps she´d go bungeejumping again...

Thomas walked calmly over towards where the Care of Magical Creatures Class would be. He hoped some people he knew would already be there, because it wouldn't do to be making a show of himself in front of his mum. Chances were it wouldn't turn out well. He was slightly dismayed when realising it was two Gryffindors. He sighed to himself, standing a slight distance away from them while looking around to see who else would be arriving.

Her head quirked up when she saw that students were arriving, one of them being her own son. Smiling to herself, she decided that now was the right time to start. So clearing her throat, Ariana waved at the students to follow her, as she entered the forest. She knew that the students would follow her quickly, for one, they had been warned off the place, and second, out of curiosity.

Ariana walked into the depths of the trees, stopping short of one, and leaning on it as she waited for the students to catch up.

Hester followed the teacher into the forest. She felt a bit apprehensive at the thought of going back in there, after what the caretaker had told her about the centaurs. And the place brought up memories of that night. That wonderful night.

She shook her head and carried on after the professor, stopping when she stopped. She looked back to see if Gwen was coming. She couldn't wait for the lesson to start, partly because she was interested, but also partly because she needed something to take her mind of the thoughts and memories the forest had awakened.

Hooking her arm with Hesters she grinned,
"Hiya Hes!" she looked into the forest and felt that familiar feeling...but it was different somehow...colder...
Shivering she closed her eyes and tried to close her mind but of course, the visions came anyway.
Biting her lip she shook her head,
Go away... she whimpered in her mind unable to do anything against the images.
On the outside she only looked thoughtful, but inside she was crying in pain. Her head felt like splitting open...
Maybe she should talk to Prof. Leclair...

As the students filed around, Ariana nodded once to herself and began talking. "This place that we are standing in, obviously you should all know is called the Forbidden Forest, and you musn't step in it without being supervised by an adult".

Having said that, she let a smile on her face, "Today we will study a creature that is hard to locate, yes, but also one of the most interesting characters. Please once you have found it, do not crowd around it, rather I prefer that you observe the creature from different angles".

Ariana allowed herself to glane at her son, before continuing' "Today's creature is called an dugbog, and I hope you've done some background study".

Hester was confused. What was this creature that the professor was talking about. She looked at Gwen curiously to see if she knew more than her.
She vaguely recognised the name which wasn't surprising seeing as she had pretty much read all of her text books cover to cover over the summer holidays when she was alone and bored, but aside from recognising the name she didn't know anything else about this creature. She wondered if it was camouflaged or something.
