Ice Cream Ahoy!

All that running around was tiring! And Raven thought he deserved a treat for putting up with the witch who kept poking him with those pins when measuring him for his school robes. Checking his watch he also saw he had time before having to go home was well.

Jogging to the ice cream shop, he wondered what he was going to try. Something he’d never had before that was for sure. Just like there though, there was a long queue and it looked to be a long wait. To pass the time, he began to hum a tune from a muggle song. He wondered if it would get on anyone’s nerves. He knew that he didn’t have the best voice which was why he was humming. It was also a very repetitive tune.

Finally losing her grandmother somewhere in the crowd, Skyler quickly made her way to the ice cream shop. So what if she hadn't eaten what her grandmother called 'real food' so far today. Besides, Skyler assured herself, it was closer than anything else. And atleast she was eating something. That point couldn't be argued. Smirking to herself, she stood in line patiently, though it wasn't long before the humming courtesy of the boy in front of her began to grate her nerves. It wasn't really the humming that bothered her, it was the fact that it was the same tune over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over....

See? You get the point. But instead of asking him to be quiet like any normal person would've, Skyler decided to beat him at his own game, and tried to contain her grin as she started whistling her own repitive tune. She absently wondered how long it would be before everyone within hearing range would get annoyed by the noise they were making. But she pretended to be casual about her whistling, as if she didn't realize she were even doing it.

Rocking back and forth on his heels, Raven had continued to hum even when getting an irritated look from the woman in front of him. Not even stopping when he just gave her a small smile. When someone began whistling behind him, he almost laughed. They too were doing a repetitive tune. Listening for a little, the boy’s brown eyes flashed in amusement as an idea struck him. Stopping briefly as he grinned from ear to ear, he picked up along with whistler. Of course he kept humming, but he was now humming the tune she was.

He may not know what the tune was, but he picked up the repetitive nature of it fast enough. And it would be interesting to see what the person did now. Shoving his hands in his pockets he wondered if they would be annoyed.

Skyler rolled her purple eyes when he switched from his tune to hers. Well he had some nerve. She did continue to whistle though, mind already coming up with various ideas. Choosing one that to her seemed promising, she grinned inspite of herself, her whistling pausing for a moment as she worked hard to keep herself in check. By now her eyes were lit with mischief, and she raised her hands until they were on either side of the boys' head, near his ears, and started snapping the tune with her fingers as she desperately attempted to keep her laughter in.

Startling, when something snapped on either side of his head, Raven let out startled yelp and jumped. Turning he glared at the laughing girl who tried and failed to look innocent. Pouting at her he crossed his arms. He didn’t like anyone beating him at his own game. He couldn’t stay mad though and gave her a half smile. “So where’s your parental unit?”

Looking over the girl’s shoulder as if he expected an adult to state they were with her. Of course with the show they had put on it was likely no parent wanted to admit they were their kids. Peering at her he canted his head to the side. “I like your eyes.”

He’d never seen someone with eyes that color before. It was neat.

Watching as the boy jumped and squealed (a yelp was a sort of squeal right?), his actions broke the damn and her laughter came bubbling out. She did attmept to feign innocence, but gave up at his glare and subsequent pout, choosing to instead flash him a cheeky grin. She didn't feel in the least bit bad. After all, he had started it. She did return his half smile though, with a grin of her own.

His question had her raising an eyebrow. They were standing outside an ice cream shop after she had made him squeal and he wants to know where her parents were? Skyler smirked at the obvious fact that if either of her parents were around, the game likely would've ended before it started. As it was though, Skyler only had her grandmother, who Skyler was glad she had lost in the crowd otherwise she would be getting a lecture about how to act proper. Years of practice though had taught Skyler the easiest and surest way to avoid questions about her parents altogether was to simply not mention them.

"Not that it's any of your business, but I'm here with my grandmother. Lost her a bit ago though." She shrugged, though her smirk and the look in her eyes plainly stated it wasn't just a stroke of luck that she had. For all intents and purposes, Skyler had ditched her grandmother. A bit taken aback at his reference to her eyes, Skyler cocked her own head. With eyes the color of hers, it wasn't like she didn't hear about them often enough. But she nodded and grinned. "Thanks. I prefer brown though." She responded in a teasing tone, eyes matching it.

Looking past him, she noticed the line had moved. Smirking, she moved past him. "Name's Skyler, by the way."
