An old friend

Emily walked up to the clock tower, she liked it there. When the common room got too noisey and loud for her likeing she went there. Or when she wnated to think in peace. Today it was simply because she was bored. That seemend to be happening a lot recently. Normally she would have wandered outisde, but it was raining afterall it was scotland. Rain was a evry common thing. She sat down in the tower and opened the book she had brought with her.

She liked the silence, though in hogwarts it never lasted for long. There was always someone there to break to the silence. But it was nice while it lasted. As per usual the third year gryffindor became absorbed in her own world. There was no way to describe her world, it wasn't like she was imaging perfection of something. She just day dreamened a lot.

Evangeline had been exploring the castle, she was bored and seeing as she didn't know many people she felt it was a good way to get to know people, the only downside? You didn't know when you would run into a hufflepuff or worse a gryffindor. She was on her way to the owlry but she found herself in a tower she had never been in before. Decideing to work out where it went to she countniued up te stairs to the top. When she reached the top of the stairs she saw a girl was already there, she didn't know her or what house she was in so she stayed there. The girl didn't seem to noitce her so she decided to speak up. "Hello?" she said, her vioce quiet.

Emily was startled by the voice behind her, she truned round to see a blonde haired girl standing there. She stood up and turned to face the girl. She noticed straight away she was a slytherin, she wondered if she was like the other slytherins she had met or if she was one of the horrible ones. She took in the girls apperance she felt like she knew her but she didn't know how. Maybe she just looked like soemone else. She was sure she didn't know her. "hi" she repleid to the girl waiting to see what she would do. Waiting to see if she would stay an dtalk or if she would turn round and walk out.

Evangeline watched as the girl stood up to face her, "oh how wonderful a gryffindor" she though to herself. She watched the girl closely taking in her apperance. The brwon wavy hair, blue eyes and small frame. The girl remined her of someone, but she never would associate with a gryffindor and neither would her parents, so she must simply look like someone else. Normally she would have turned on the spot and left but something made her stay. She watched the girl closely.

"so what are you doing here?" she asked the girl coldly. Her tone was bored and empty.

She felt the girls eyes on her, she met the slytherin's eyes. They were blue like her own but like her tonw of voice they showed little emotion. The blonde's tone was cold and Emily got the impressin that the slytherin thought that Emily shouldn't be there.
"If you must know, it's quiet here and I need somewhere to read" she replied simply. She tried to be pleasant to the grl. Somewhere inside her she felt like she knew her. But being nice to her wasn't easy, she made it diffuclt with her bored tone.

The girl was still watching her closely but Emily wasn't bothered in the slightess. She stared rght back her. Part of her mind was trying to place her or remmeber her face.

She nodded a little at what the girl said. She knew she should hate this girl, afetralll she was a gryffindor. Even if she was a pureblood the idea that she was actually talking to her was absurd. Her parnets wouldn't be happy if they found out she was associating with gryffindors. She tried to convince herslef that there was no wya she could possibly know the gryffindor but she couldn't shake the felling that they had met before. She walked over to the window in the tower, she felt the gryffindor turn round as she walked so they were still facing each other. She kept her back to the gryffindor as she watched the rain. The view was still good though.

"You think it will ever stop raining it's been what a full day so far" she asked, thought it wasn't really a question. She couldn't believe she was standing talking to a gryffindor. But something about the girl remined her of the past when she was a chile, she just couldn't place the girls face.

She turned to keep the girl in her sight, she didn't exactly trust her. The slytherin had her back turned to her. "the rain's not so bad, seeing as it's so warm I think it's quite refreshing. You should get used to it Scotland is lucky to have a day without rain" she replied. She twirled a strand of her brown hair round her finger thinking. The girl remined her of her childhood and a friend she once had but it was impossible it couldn't be angeline. She hadn't seen her friend for so long and anyway she would have gone to school in America surely, didn't her family move there? No it couldn't be her.

Evangeline turned back to face the gyrffindor smirking at what she said "yeah I guess it does rain a lot here" she replied. Sudenly she remembered something.

Two young girls, a blonde and a brown haried girl, the blonde was maybe six the other around eight. "I hate the rain" the younger girl moaned. "I know but you should get used to it it is Brtiain afterall"

The picture was so clear in her mind "Emmie" she said under her breath knowing th egryffindor was unlikely to hear. She remmeber her friend well though she hadn't seen her for three maybe four years. They had lost touch and when her and her family wen tover to visit them for a while, Emmie wasn't there.

Emily heard the girl say something undder her breath she couldn't quite make it out. The gryffindor wondered if she had magined it but she was sure she hadn't. She wacthed the blonde carefully she seemend to be thinkg or remembering something. Emily didn't want to interupt her silence and bring her out of her thoughts. The gryffindor was still studying the younger girl, she couldn't possible know the girl but somewhere inside her head their was a small voice telling her that the girl before her was a freidn from her childhood.

"By the way what's you name?" she asked realising they hadn't introduced themselves. "I'm Emily Sparrow" she added the last part, the slytherin was unliekly to tell her something without Emily doing the same.

"see Emily Sparrow" she though to herslef. There was no way that was Emmie. Now she knew that the girl was not who she had though for a tiny moment she felt she could leave now. But still she couldn't bring herself to walk out. "Evangeline Greene" she said coldly. Now she was sure she didn't knwo the girl, there was no need for her to be pleasant in the slightest. Soon she would make an excuse to leave and she would never have to speak to the gryffindor again. She twirled a strand of her blonde hair round her finger, bored. She waited for the girl to rsponde, to say something.

The gryffindor girl opened her mouth in shock. The blonde girl infront of her twirled a strand of her hair round her finger. Emily couldn't belive that that girl from her childhood, her friend was there. Standing infront of her as pretty ad ever. She had changed though Emily remmebered with her light brown hair a tall and thin girl. Now she saw a blonde who was small and Emily though she couldn't have grown since they saw each other last. She looked so differnet but she smiled as the memories of her friend cam back. The girl may have been younger than her but the became close some even called them sisters. But that seemend so long ago.

She wondered why her old friend didn't recognise her name but then she remmebred that she was once a lovegood. Noww she was a sparrow. SHe knew she had changed a lot as well and not just in the way she looked. SHe still couldn't believ that the girl standing in front of her was Evan. "Angie" she said her voice barely above a whisper.

She looked at the girl puzzled. The gryffindor seemend shocked "what?" she asked. The gryffindor certainly was odd but that is the grryfindor's for you, she thought to herslef. She started at the girl with her cold blue eyes. "angie" she heard the girl whisper, it was so quite the slytherin could only just hear it. "what did you call me?" she asked. She had hated been called Angie or angeline ever since she was little. There were only a few exceptions to that rule. Her little brother and some friends.
