.Personal History.Ashwin grew up in a loving home. His mother raised him by herself when she was very young, after his father ran off with some other woman. When Ash noticed something different about him that none of his other friends could do, his mother told him that she was a witch. From then on, Ash had always felt distant from other people until he was old enough to go to Hogwarts.
When Ash is very angry with something and/or someone, his Scottish brogue becomes rough and more noticeable. There are times when he is excited or he just lapses back into his Scottish nature. Other than that, most don't notice that he is of Scottish descent.
Ashley Winona Turner was a former Ravenclaw in her time at Hogwarts. She had a Muggle deadbeat boyfriend who she slept with, resulting in the pregnancy that produced Ash. She wasn't sure that he would be a wizard, even though she was a Pureblood herself. When Ash performed his accidental magic, she knew that he would be a fine wizard.
Ash never knew his father; never wanted to meet him at all. If his father tried to talk with Ash now, he wouldn't be responsible for the consequences that would result from that. Ash's grandparents disowned his mother after she got pregnant with him. He refuses to even have contact with them, even though they try to talk to him
