Girl's Dorm 1

Sami entered the dorm, wanting to work on a few things before going to bed. She had classes the next day and could do with a little extra revising, not having done much on the break. Some stuff got in the way and revising for classes she knew she could ace seemed like a waste of time (although she would have to worry about Potions and Transfiguration.) She sighed contently as she sat back on her bed. This was the life. She sighed, again, and sat up when she realized what she had came up here to do. She reached down from her four-poster bed and grabbed her bag, lifting out three heavy books and some quills and parchment. The Ravenclaw then began to work on notes for her first lesson, scirrbling important things down.

She heard a noise coming from the door and continued working, before deciding to see which of her dorm mates had decided to join her.

Sami quietly glanced up at the maker of the noise, mumbling a quick greeting, before furiously scratching something on her essay. She did this for another minute before giving up, her room mate slightly distracting her. Sighing, she decided that was a good place to stop. She set down her quill and slipped her scrolls into her Divination book, before closing it. She reached under her bed and slid both books underneath, deciding to just re-read the script that had arrived in her mail, a week earlier.

A month before the start of term, the Ravenclaw recieved word of an audition for a musical in a populated town nearby. She figured it was about time to start building up her acting career, so, with permission from her father, she went to go audition. After repeating a few lines, they gave her a song to memorize. She would have the second part of the auditions held in two weeks, on the weekend. She needed to ask Headmaster Cooper for permission to leave school ground, though. Hopefully, it wouldn't be too hard.

"Blackbird singing in the dead of night," Sami sang softly, not really listening to anyone. "Take these broken wings and learn to fly; all your life. You were only waiting, for this moment to arrive"

Dree quietly walked into the dorm. Sami greeted her as she wrote some essay for a class of some sort. Dree wasn't to good with classes... She was fine until it came to homework. Then she'd get distracted. very distracted. It wasn't helped by her missing the end of last year. She left early because of a 'family crisis' If you could call it that... Well yeah. You could.. At least for her. Her aunts house burt down or something. She'd sent her son to live with them.... He was a wizard too, but he didn't go to Hogwarts, being only 10. But next year the twerp would be here.

Dree dropped her things on her bed and looked at Sami. She was singing quietly. It reminded her of when Terry had tried to get her to sing back in first year. But she, being devouis (or just lucky) had found a way out of it.

"Saammmiii" Dree grinned coming up behind her friend "Let's do something"

Terry poked her head through her curtains, rubbing her eyes. "Guys, I'm trying to study here." she complained, fighting back a yawn. "I have to get straight Os or my father vill take avay my new Firebolt." She shuddered at the thought as she glanced at a picture of Iggy on her nightstand. Grabbing it, she disappeared behind her curtains and back on her bed, sitting cross legged on the dark blue comforter, looking at the picture of Iggy chewing on Puff, who was only half in the picture. Feeling tears come up, she wiped at them furiously, not wanting to cry so soon into her third year.

Sami sighed and shook her head, "Sorry, Addy. I'm just a little tired right now, I guess all the stress of studying has finally gotten to me." Had it of been any other day, she would've gladly accepted her friend's challenge. But at the moment, she simply wasn't feeling up to anything as adventurous and time-consuming like what her friend was suggesting. Honestly, all she wanted to do was practice, practice, practice. Which, she couldn't do with Terry's request for silence; her dormmate didn't look too good and she didn't want to be a bother. So, she took to singing softly, knowing it wouldn't bother her as much.

"Blackbird singing in the dead of night,

You were only waiting for this moment to arise," the girl sighed and curled up on her bed. Hopefully sleep would come easy to her tonight.

Terry looked down at the picture, feeling tears leak down her cheeks. She didn't bother wiping them away, just let them drip down onto the glass. Why did that little brat eat her lizard? Shifting slightly, she fell back on her pillows, burying her face in them as she screamed, unaware of her friends being able to hear her. It had barely been a week since her father had cremated her lizard and turned his scales to a bracelet Terry now wore on her wrist. The ashes were in a pot with a lizard head shaped top on her nightstand.

She held Puff close to her chest, burying her face in the furry body.

Dree collapsed onto her bed and put her face into the pillows. Everyone was studing and doing homework. But she wasn't. She'd do it later or something. Because currently she was feeling adventureus and slightly dizzy.

Then, someone screamed. Dree, of course, nearly fell out of bed. It was Ri. She managed her way out of the bed (without injuring herself too much) and opened Ri's curtains slightly. She climbed onto the bed and sat next to the screaming girl. "Ri?" She asked quietly. "What's wrong?"

Terry looked up at her friend, shrugging. "Nothing." she said stubbornly. She wiped her tears away with her hand quickly, letting go of Puff. Sighing, she looked at her friend, sitting up. "Iggy vas eaten by my little brother a veek before term started." she said, sighing.

Taura flopped down on her bed, exhausted. She hadn't exactly been around the past couple of months. Sure, she was there physically, roaming the halls of Hogwarts, going to class, and sitting in quiet little corners of the common room. But no one really noticed her anymore. Not that she could blame them, of course, she'd barely said a word. Even in class, she sat in the back, quietly taking notes, never so much as raising her hand. She pretended that she just didn't care. She imagined what people must think of her... They might think she thinks herself to be all high and mighty, and better than everyone else. Truthfully, she thought everyone else was just too good for her.

For 11 years, she'd been excited to go to Hogwarts. Excited to learn new spells, and meet new friends. When she was placed in Ravenclaw, (rather than Slytherin, where she, along with everyone else who knew her, had assumed she'd be) it totally threw her for a loop. She just never felt like she belonged in Ravenclaw. At first, she'd tried to make friends. She really had. But they, despite offering her the bed that was left in their dorm room, really didn't seem to like her all that much. So, rather than try to impress them, and change herself to get them to like her, she'd just withdrawn herself from the rest of the crowd. She stopped talking to everyone, even her best friend Sunny, who had been lucky enough to be placed in Slytherin. Not that Taura disliked being a Ravenclaw or anything, it's just not where she thought she'd be. She sighed, and lay down on her bed just as her cat, Amnesia (named for her terrible memory) jumped up to join her.

"You know, Amnesia," She complained to her cat, "Sometimes my life really does not go as planned. And it just sucks."
