Personal History

Kara was born on January 30th to Annalise and Marcus Hawthorn as Kara Serenity Hawthorn. She was named after her paternal aunt Kara. She grew up in a household surrounded by magic, so she is aware of the magical world. Her family was wealthy, too, because of her father's pureblood status, he has a lot of money from generations of Hawthorns before him. Her sister, Sierra Joanne Hawthorn, was born on August 5th the following year, and her mother had a miscarriage and she died giving birth. Kara loves her sister, though, and she doesn't blame her. She can't remember much about her mother anyways, since she was only one-and-a-half at the time.

Her father works in the ministry, and ever since he became a widower, he's sort of drifted apart from the two girls. He likes to shut himself in his office a lot and leave the two to do as they please. Kara and Sierra never had a problem with this, though. They enjoyed their freedom, and often discussed how they were eager to one day go to Hogwarts. When Kara got her letter, she was extremely excited. But, when it came to leave, she was sad to have to leave her sister all alone with her father. She worried her younger sister might get lonely, so Kara promised she'd write to Sierra every week before she boarded the Hogwarts Express.
