Leighton was born in London, but moved to America with her family when she was two. She lived in New York until she got her letter from Hogwarts. She was the first in her family to get into Hogwarts because bother her parents and her brother were privately tutored. She convinced her parents to let her go to Hogwarts.

Since Leighton grew up in a house with only her brother to keep her company. She grew up a tomboy and is not afraid to get her hands dirty. She is much more mature than people her own age and doesn't have patience with stupid or immature people. Her brother taught her non-verbal magic and magic without a wand.

Leighton is not a very open person and doesn't get along well with other children. Out in public, she is usually found with the adult rather than the kids. She discovered how to read when she was very young and has always had the ability to create stories. She has a very mystical imagination, but knows the bluntness and pain of the world.

Leighton was treated badly at her school in New York. Many people stayed away from her because she was so different. Many people were afraid of her "witch-like" eyes and her stand-off personality. She had one really close friend, Lachlan, only because Lachlan was a witch too and Leighton's younger cousin. Leigh was considered very pretty at her school, but in an odd and unearthly way. So, in other words, many people were repulsed by the unknown; Leighton.

At Hogwarts, Leighton was sorted into Slytherin. Her first and best friend at Hogwarts was Alyssa. She also is friends with other people, but Lyss is her true friend. Her cousin was sorted into Hufflepuff and they don't talk much. Leighton is in third year now.

During the summer before her third year at Hogwarts, her parents and brother was at her pent house in New York when it caught on fire. They were sleeping when it happened and they didn't even realize it until it was too late. Leighton was staying with her aunt Astoria when that happened. Now she lives with her aunt and is an orphan. She hasn't been the same since.

Dear Diary,
Pathetic? I know. I never usually had to resort to diary to keep me company. I assumed I would've made some new friends by now, but it seems as if fate isn't in my favor as of the moment. I know I should be writing to mother about my problems, but why bother her? She has to deal with Alyxander and without me there to keep my 15 YEAR OLD brother in check, she has double the work.
I was late my first Potions class! I'm proud of myself too. I felt horrible about the fact that I was late my favorite class. Of course, I wouldn't know if its my favorite since I WAS LATE.
Luckily, I've been finding it easier to write since I got here. It's as if my writing block went away. I sing in my head often to keep myself form going insane and pour my emotion into my writing. I think its petty having to use inhuman objects as an outlet, but its working for me.
Well, I've already written more than I would would like to admit. And I'm pained to say that I will be writing in you again dear diary. Perhaps I'll name you eventually. But, for now I must say good night!

Dear Diary,
It seems I have found my way back to you. No matter how hard I try to stuff you under my bed, under my suitcases-- pardon me, trunks, you always seem to find a way back into my hands. So, I decided I would take the time and enter in a page or two of my thoughts.
Well, good news is that I made a few friends. My main friend has to be Lyss though. She is a lot like me, but in a different sort of way. I can be carefree and easy-going around her. I can tell that we are going to get into some trouble this year. Of course, us being Slytherins, we might not get caught.
Another person I met is named Rowan. She is also a fellow Slytherin. While Lyss brings out the best in me, Rowan is just as dark as I am. She is also just as apathetic. Rowan might be someone I can scheme with and act a bit more... what's the word... evil? Not that I want to be evil, it's apparently in my nature.
There is one more Slytherin that I just met. Her name is Ellen. She has really red hair. Quite pretty if you ask me. Then again, all hair is pretty compared to my mane of chocolate curls. I want to get to know her better for sure.
Of course, there are other classmates that I had met. A Gryffindor named Emily and a couple of Hufflepuff boys. They were all nice enough, it just seems as if I will be spending more time with the Slytherins. Since they are closest.
I miss my family, but not terribly so. I know for a fact that I miss America though. I am a American through and through. Even though I was born in London. Alyxander and I haven't talk in awhile. I might send him an owl the next chance I get. Maybe... maybe not. I know I will send one to Lachlan though. I miss her more than anyone. My parents will do along fine without a letter. They know I miss them. I'm sure mom is worried about my little... cat issue though. Only Lyss and her know. Not a big deal if you ask me.
Oh dear, look at the time. It seems as if I have something productive and worthy of my time to do. I guess I'll be forced to write in you again, small leather journal.
