Surrounded by a largely wooded area stood a gigantic manor which appeared to be made entirely of marble. This manor was the not-so-humble abode of Samuel Jude Parker II, his wife, Mary Eileen Parker, and his son Samuel Jude Parker III, who was getting ready to start his very first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
On the third floor of the manor, in a wing that he had all to himself, Samuel Jude Parker III (who preferred to be called simply Jude) was sitting on his bed watching as a house elf unpacked all of the things that he had purchased in Diagon Alley and repacked them in the trunk that he would be taking with him to Hogwarts.
The elf excused herself when his mother called, needing another set of hands to help get ready for the fancy party that she was throwing. Jude hated those parties, so he stayed up in his room, refusing to come out no matter what. His father wasn't there anyway, which meant that he really had no desire to go downstairs.
He took out his new wand and twirled it between his fingers. Hogwarts would be different, and so much better. He couldn't wait.
