The Portrait Hole: Password? Empty
PostSubject: The Portrait Hole: Password?   The Portrait Hole: Password? EmptySun Jan 02, 2011 4:02 pm

You see the Fat Lady in her frame, sitting and looking as eloquent as only Edwardian women can do whilst sat. Her head snaps up when your wonderful Gryffindor presence graces the small anteroom in front of her.

"Password?" she inquired, sniffing with superiority.

You know the password, the tall Prefect and not the small one told you. You remember that.
The password is Carpe Diem.

Tell her.

The only one-shot you'll ever be obliged to do in Gryffindor. Each year of course, the Password needs changing every once in a while, to keep those naughty houses out.

Silvana went up the moving staircases and found herself in front of a portrait. In that portrait was a...lovely lady. Well, it was the Fat Lady that is, so she wasn't exactly lovely. Silver didn't want to be rude though, even in her head. Perhaps the Fat Lady could read her expression and tell what she was thinking or maybe Silver was just paranoid. Either way she decided to be nice to the portrait.

"Password?"

"Carpe Diem." The Portrait Hole opened in front of her and she was allowed entrance.

Gwen was so excited she almost ran into the portrait,
The Fat Lady smiled at her and asked her for the password. Of course she remembered, she had written it on her arm just in case.
She had been waiting for this moment and now she was so excited she could barelystop talking. So she did what she did best much to the portraits amusement,
She babbled.

"Carpe Diem! Though personally I believe in Carpe Noctem. it sounds nicer, don´t you think?" She babbled smiling as she entered.

Emily walked xcitedly to the portrait of the fat lady she was amazed she managed to find it without getting too lost, those moving staircases were a nightmare. As she approached the fat lady looked up and smiled at her.
“password?” she asked
Emily was so excited that she couldn't quite remember the password but after a moment she rmeembered what she had been told.
“Carpe Diem” she said. She smiled as she entred the common room, she was really excited about meeting her fellow gryffindors.

Seeing a girl make her way into the portrait she hurried her feet and tried to keep herself upright.
No, please don't leave me to make it in there on my own, she thought pleadingly. What if she wasn't allowed in?

She slowed down when she saw the portrait shut on the girl.

The snooty woman in the portrait looked at Astrid for a moment and saw the plain girl with her hair half up half down (and not in the nice way either).

"Password?"

Astrid stared at the woman for a while. She knew she was a Gryffindor. From what she had learnt at the Sorting Hat, things around Hogwarts seemed to just 'know' where you belonged. Why was the portrait keeping up all pretenses with her?

She whined to herself and narrowed her eyes.
"Carpe diem."

And walked annoyed into the common room, her eyes welling up with frustration.

The only Eliot child was sure it wasn't the portrait that was making her mad, though.

Full from the Sorting Feast, James made his way to the Gryffindor Common Room. He got lost several times on his adventure to the room, suspecting that that staircase on the third flood lead him astray on purpose.

He finally made it in front of his desired portrait and tired to remember what the Prefect told him. It was something in latin, he was sure of it. Why wasn't he concentrating on remembering the password instead of being so fascinated with the rest of the castle!

The password did come to mind, and he smiled at the Lady in pink, taking a step forward.

"Password?" she asked him, in an emotionless voice.

"Carpe Diem," James replied proudly, and grinned as the portrait door swung open, revealing the Common room inside. He climbed through, very happy that he wouldn't have to wait out the front of the Common room like a dolt.

Jenn Black had quite the adventure finding her way to the potrait of the fat lady Jenn thought the portrait rolled it's eyes at her as it spoke, recognizing the presence of a Gryffindor.

"Password?" the portrait of the lady asked her dully.

She loved the phrase used as the password, sieze the day is what it meant and she loved saying it. "Carpe Diem," she spole to the moving painting on the castle wall. She smiled at Jenn as sh opened up for her to enter the common room waiting through the hole concealed by the portrait.

Benjamin made his way to the portrait of the fat lady after the sorting feast. He was full and most of all, he was glad he was sorted into Gryffindor, his dad and his grandpa were gryffindors too, and he was proud to continue the family traditions.

He arrived and looked at the fat lady on the portrait, wow there's an ugly dress he thought, "don't stare young man, staring is rude" said the lady with a huff, "password?" she asked raising her chin and looking down on him, maybe thinking that he wouldn't know the password. but the lady was wrong, he knew the password, and not only that, but was determined to be on her good side, you never knew when a favor might be needed.

Smiling gallantly at her he apologized "I'm really sorry ma'am, I was just admiring your frame" he said with a wink "the password is Carpe Diem I think" he said.

Noah looked up at the portrait of the fat lady, and looked around to make sure that there weren't any other student's lurking about trying to steal the password. He didn't want to be the reason for a Slytherin invasion.

The woman in the portrait looked down at the young Gryffindor with a small smile, waiting for him to give her the password. He had been repeating the words over and over in his head ever since the tall prefect had told them.

He had been repeating it over and over that he hadn't been watching where he was going and had stepped on a vanishing step on the staircase and had to wait for one of the older students to help him out. Well that had been a rather embarrassing start to his school career. But he was sure that there would plenty more opportunities for him to make a fool of himself. He wouldn't be surprised if he managed to walk into the black lake while concentrating on something else.

The portrait gave a small cough, getting Noah's attention.

"Oh sorry, Carpe diem," he gave her the password and the portrait swung open, allowing Noah to step through into the Gryffindor Common Room.

Hester made her way up to Gryffindor tower for the first time. She was still in awe of the whole place, of the whole magical world, but her Gryffindor courage seeped through and she strode confidently up the steps.

She stopped at the top, outside a large painting of a - Well, of a rather large woman.

This must be the Fat Lady, she thought.

The portrait asked for a password. This wasn't too surprising; Hester had been told of this, and also she had seen so many portraits on the journey up, all talking and shouting and moving.

"Carpe diem," she said, hoping she had remembered correctly. She had been listening to the tall prefect carefully, but everything was just so distracting.

She breathed a sigh of relief when the portrait swung forwards revealing the entrance into the Gryffindor common room. She had got her first challenge correct.
