The theatre was not nearly as grand, large, and intimidating as Sami had made it out to be. In fact, it sort of reminded her of her primary school's auditorium, but able to seat more people and theatre-goers. The walls were scarcely decorated; only in a deep scarlet with beautiful trimming. She looked around the large space, in awe, not believing that she might one day get to preform in one of these. Of course, that would only be until some hot-shot director would call her up and beg for her to star lead in his or hers newest blockbuster in Hollywood! She knew she would have to work to achieve her dream, though, and was prepared to wait as long as necessa-
Someone clearing their throat interrupted her train of though. She twirled to face the panel of adults judging and critiquing her every move, then gulped nervously, praying that she hadn't angered them. "Um, sorry 'bout that. Ye called me?" The witch mentally cringed at how idiotic she sounded. Like a blubbering fool, Hamilton would've said. She immediately straightened up her posture, not wanting the imaginary Professor to give her a detention.
They nodded and the producer waved his hand, signalling her to begin her lines. She did.
"We're in tae middle of a revolution, Jude! And what are ye doon'? Doodles an' Cartoons?" Sami used as much expression as she possibly had into this line, stressing the right words. However, her Irish accent was looming on the edge of every word she said, making to hard to pull of an American accent. Your mother... she nearly jumped in fright. Be your mother, control your vocals, the voice whispered from somewhere inside of her. She suddenly understood. Accentuate your Hawaiian descent.
They looked up at her exasperatedly, waiting her to continue her lines. The co-director and a few others did not look in the least bit pleased with her preformance, however, the director and casting director themselves appeared as though in deep thought. She took a deep breath and continued, "Oh, I'm so scared for Max!" and after someone repeated Jude's line she said, "Hope you're right." She sighed in relief upon noticing her Irish accent was under the radar. With each sentence, she sounded more and more like her mother than she had ever done before.
The casting director- who she was imagining was Addy- stole a glance at the others before turning to the jet-black haired girl. "Hey, would ye mind sayin' these lines, instead?" The room went deathly silent.
