Andy headed down from the towers with Elise, talking as they went. "Yeah. I'm pretty sure James is a Pureblood so he'd know all about House Elves. Probably has one himself, the lucky bastard," Andy said, responding to Elise's previous statement about her knowing about Elves due to James mentioning them. Life really would have been so much easier, if they had a house elf of their own, but his parents insisted that household values were learnt by using your own two hands. Ridiculous, really.

He walked down the staircase, turning his head to Elise, "Careful to jump this step," saying this as he jumped it himself. First day here, he sunk knee deep into the seemingly solid, but was obviously not so solid, floor.

Andy finally made it outside the portrait of the fruit bowl. He reached forward and tickled the pear gently, grinning like a baffoon when the portrait swung open to reveal a spacious room, alive with busy house elves.

He gestured for Elise to go first, remembering what his father said about being respectful, blah blah.

"Welcome to the Kitchens," Andy said following in after her.

Elise listened to Anthony rant. He really was amusing. Compared to the other boys at the orphanage or the ones in the muggle world, he was loads better to talk to. There was no 'You're taking martial arts? No way! Only boys do that, and you're not a boy! It was childish really, at least to her.

They were ten-going-eleven years old already. Those petty opinions needed to be shut down, and shoved in the back of their minds.

So yeah. Anthony was an awesome person to hang with. Oh, and James too. And Gwen. And pretty much everyone she had met here in the wizarding world really.

When Elise stepped into the kitchen, her mouth opened in shock and awe. There were weird, wrinkly creatures walking about and it smelled amazingly wonderful. Her stomach let out a growling noise. Elise blushed. Embarrassing!

"Thanks," she smiled at him before taking a seat at one of the little stools. "So you say that they can make anything for us?"

Andy looked around much like Elise did. He must find his sister and thank her sometime. This place was awesome! He could see the makings of dinner already getting started on. Elves were already hard at work peeling potatoes and stirring large pots of what looked like a stew of some description. He saw that Elise sat down, and walked over to her, nodding at her question.

"Yup. Just watch." He smiled at one of the Elves that was walking over to them.

"Would the Sir and Lady be wanting something?" the creature asked politely. Andy nodded.

"Could we please get a plate of chocolate chip cookies and a plate of ham and cheese sandwiches?" He paused, looking at Elise. "Did you want something too?" he joked, suggesting that the whole plate of sandwiches and cookies were just for him.

"Nar, only joking. Will that be alright? You're not a vegetarian, are you?"

She raised an eyebrow in confusion when the creature called her a 'lady.' Back in the muggle world, Elise was most definitely not a lady. There was always something wrong with whatever she did, it seemed. But at least in the wizarding world, she could start over.

Elise laughed a bit with Anthony attempt at humor.

"Yeah, that's fine. And no I'm not a vegetarian."

Her green orbs tried to taking everything in. The house-elves would pop in and out, point a finger and things would move, and they all look like they like doing work.

Andy nodded, and then said, "That would be great," to the elf who bowed low and walked off to complete his order.

He turned to Elise. "See. Awesome, isn't it?" He pulled out one of the stools and sat down. "It's great when you're super hungry at midnight, and extra awesome for you, as your common room is near it, isn't it?" He had a feeling that the Hufflepuff commonroom was down here somewhere, but he wasn't sure.

Elise smiled at the retreating elf. As much as she had been a bit taken aback by his or her appearance, they really were quite cute in a weird way. Hearing Anthony talking to her Elise turned her eyes and attention back to him.

If there was anything remotely lady-like about her, it would be that she was a good listener and always paid attention to the speaker; that is until someone starts counting boring lectures and classes.

"You're right," she said, "This place is extremely awesome, and I'm so glad that my common room is only a few halls away."

Elise smiled widely.

James' hunger always hit around about 2pm. He had lunch at the normal time, and then sometime between then and dinner, he felt his stomach start to grumble and knew that a small snack wouldn't hurt his appetite for dinner. He was a growing boy after all.

After pleading for the secret to enter the kitchens from Philip, his older brother, James meandered down to the kitchens, smiling at some of the students that he past on his way, and finally made it to the Fruit Bowl Portrait. He tickled the pear, feeling silly, but if that was the way to gain entrance, he didn't really care at all.

James walked through the entrance and grinned at the sight he saw before him. Anthony and Elise were there already, and obviously were feeling as hungry as him. He was glad that he wouldn't have to eat alone, and besides, he hadn't seen Elise or Anthony since Potions, and wanted to have a proper chat with them, other than the hushed whispers in the Potions classroom. He walked up to the two of them.

"Hey guys. Did you order enough food for three?"

Andy nodded and was about to reply with something when he heard the portrait door swing open. He turned to see who was entering the kitchen, and a grin spread over his face when he recognised the boy who entered.

"If you're happy with ham and cheese sangas, and choc-chip cookies, than yes. We have loads for three people," Andy told the Gryffindor boy. "Pull up a chair."

She turned her head when she heard a vaguely familiar voice. James stood before them in his Gryffindor robes asking if they had ordered enough for three people. Elise grinned at him, glad to see him in a not-so-tense atmosphere.

"James!" She cried and waved.

Okay. That was a late reaction, but she hadn't wanted to cut Anthony off mid-sentence. That would have been rude, and that wasn't cool.

Gwen was searching the halls of Hogwarts for her cat. Thinking that Rox couldn´t get far with her large weight was a huge mistake. She had no clue where she was. "Roxy! Roxy get back here! I swear Rox if you don´t come out here I´ll really go through with your diet!" She called out her blue eyes flashing.
Instantly she heard a grumpy meow. She rushed to the source and saw Rox sneacking some food from a houseelf and picked her up. Despite her small size, Gwen was actually quite strong so picking up her overly-chubby cat was no problem. She turned around hearing familiar voices,
"Oh Hi guys! Mind if we join you?" She asked as Rox pawed at her dark curls.

James smiled. He was definitely up for sandwiches. He didn't know what it was about this time of day, but he always seemed to get super hungry.

He turned to Elise as she semi-shouted his name and he grinned again. "Wotcher, Elise. How's things?"

He sat down on one of the stools, near Anthony and Elise when he heard the portrait door swing open again. Seems the whole school is hungry, James thought, before noticing it was Gwen who entered, the fellow Gryffindor, accompanied by her cat.

"Hey Gwen," James said in greeting. "I have no qualms about it, and I'm sure these two don't either."
